Frank J. Basloe Public Library on Main Street in the village of Herkimer will be temporarily closing its doors for the installation of a new carpet.

The library will close on Saturday, April 14, and will re-open on Monday, May 7.
On Saturday, staff and volunteers will begin moving all of the library’s items, including books and furniture into on-site storage. “About 50,000 items will be stowed away in library rooms and offices. Luckily we have the Washburn Room which is pretty big, so a majority of the items will be stored in there,” said library director Lesley Paul, adding over the course of the weekend of April 14 and 15 they plan to move everything off of the blue rug that is currently in the library.

The new carpet will be installed on May 1. In the meantime, the library will undergo cleaning.

Invisalign clear plastic orthodontic aligners cost more in materials than conventional edgewise braces, but they require fewer patient visits and a shorter duration of treatment, researchers reported here at the American Association for Dental Research 2012 Annual Meeting.

Both approaches to moving teeth are useful, first author Michael Ross, a dental student at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, told Medscape Medical News. “It’s weighing the time cost against the material costs,” he said.

In the Invisalign system, practitioners fit their patients with a series of plastic aligners fabricated in a laboratory that incrementally adjust the teeth in the desired direction. The system has allowed some general dentists to do what only orthodontists could do before. But few studies have measured which approach is more efficient in time or money.

To explore this question, Rossi and his colleagues evaluated the records of 150 patients with mild to moderate class I malocclusion. The 2 groups were matched for the amount of initial malocclusion and the number of rotated teeth.

The researchers measured the time taken by appointments for both types of treatment with a stopwatch.

Victims of a South Jersey wedding-photography scam can now easily search for their names on a Burlington County website after officials recovered hundreds of CDs customers paid for but never received.

Jack Holton, who operated a photography businesses in Cinnaminson and Palmyra under the name “Renaissance Photography,” served time in prison for fraud after not delivering on contracted wedding photographs.

“Hundreds of CDs and negatives are here waiting for their owners,” said Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien in a recent release. “Many of the CDs are not labeled or marked properly, so it is difficult to locate the proper customers. ”

All of the information marked on the CDs have been entered into a file that past customers can review. So far, only about 50 individuals have recovered their CDs, officials said.

When Gary and Vicki Koontz set out to find a piece of land upon which to build their new house, they knew they were in for a challenge.
